Terms of Service

Effective July 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of redwoodacademy.ai and enrollment in Redwood Academy’s programs. By using the site or enrolling a student, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing this site or enrolling in a program, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

2. What we provide

Redwood Academy provides live, small-group online instruction in coding and AI-assisted software development: instructor-led classes, project feedback, and related teaching materials. Course content, schedules, and tools may evolve as the technology and curriculum change.

3. Eligibility and parental consent

Our programs are designed for students roughly ages 10 to 18. A parent or legal guardian must complete enrollment, provide the required information, and accept these terms on the student’s behalf. By enrolling, you confirm you are the parent or guardian and have the authority to do so.

4. Use of third-party AI tools

Our courses teach students to work with professional AI coding tools. Some of these tools — including Claude Code and Cursor — set their own minimum age requirements, often 18 or older, and are governed by their own terms of service. Where a tool’s terms require it, students use that tool only in instructor-supervised settings or through the age-appropriate environment and alternatives we provide, and never by creating an account in violation of that tool’s terms. By enrolling, a parent or guardian consents to this supervised use.

Redwood Academy is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, or any other tool provider. All product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe the tools we teach.

5. Enrollment and payment

6. Scheduling, attendance, and conduct

Students are expected to attend their scheduled sessions on time. Make-up sessions are offered at our discretion and subject to instructor availability. From time to time we may need to reschedule a session, and we will give as much notice as we can. We ask students to treat instructors and classmates with respect. Recording live classes is not permitted without our written permission.

7. Intellectual property

The content on this site and in our programs — including lessons, materials, and curriculum — belongs to Redwood Academy and is protected by intellectual property law. It is licensed to you for personal, educational use only, and may not be copied, resold, or republished without our written permission. Projects and code a student creates in class belong to the student.

8. No guaranteed outcomes

We are committed to high-quality teaching, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome, such as admission to a program, a competition result, or a specific level of skill. Progress depends on each student’s effort and participation.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Redwood Academy’s total liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

10. Termination

We may suspend or end a student’s access for serious or repeated violations of these terms or our conduct expectations. Where we end access for reasons other than conduct, any refund is handled under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use of the site or our services after that date means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Redwood Academy is organized, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
